Kharon Chapter 24
The suns are rising in the sky as Luke makes his way onto the deck of the Kharon to greet the new day. The sea breeze hits his face as he scans the top deck and the expanse of ocean all around him. The only soul he sees on the deck with himself is Kiarah who sits on the rail of the ship, her legs dangling over the side. Luke walks over to her and states, “With our guidance system down aren’t you afraid we’ll hit rocky waters and you’ll fall off?” Kiarah neither turns towards Luke or utters a response. Instead she keeps on staring at the water below her. “Suit yourself.” Luke walks away.
