Prinooween-Chapter 5

Chapter 5

After some lengthy travel the coaches pull up to a massive walled castle right next to a huge lake.  The coaches go directly to the edge of the main castle door and stop.  The earthlings get out and look around as the people walking by stop to look at them.  Some of them point and whisper to each other.  Milenas walks up to the four earthlings, “Come on!”  She leads them into the castle.  “I can’t wait to introduce you to Frallinaso!”
Zoeborh runs in front of her, “Milenas my dear, perhaps I should prep her first.  You know how your sister hates surprises.”
Just then one of the guards standing nearby yells out, “All hail the Queen!”  Coming up the pathway is a beautiful woman dressed in elaborate garments with the same colors Zoeborh and Milenas wear.  She is surrounded by an entourage.  John quickly assesses that this is the Queen they have been hearing so much about.  Everyone around them bows leaving the four earthlings the only ones standing.
“Ah so we finally lay eyes on the queen”, says Sal, “About what I was picturing.”
“Yea good looks clearly run in the family”, says Michael.
“You may all rise”, says Queen Frallinaso.  She then turns to the four earthlings.  “You four.  Why did you not bow to your Queen?”
“We don’t bow to anyone”, says Michael.
A gasp of horror falls over the crowd gathering.  Queen Frallinaso’s eyes narrow, “Excuse me?”
Zoeborh comes rushing in to try and diffuse the situation, “Your highness, I was just coming to tell you while taking in the sights on the borderlands it seems your sister has discovered some strangers to our world.”
“They were on the south edge of Lake Stoinyx.  I saw a thunderbird carrying one of them but then something hit it’s claw and it dropped him.  When I went over to investigate, there they were.  They say they came through a portal”, says Milenas and then slowly adds looking at the earthlings to make sure she gets the next part right, “they come from a place called Earth right, is that how you say it?”
“That’s right”, says John smiling at her then turning to Queen Frallinaso, “We seem to have accidentally been transferred from our world to yours.  We would like to request permission to live in your kingdom as guests and learn about your planet.”  The Queen walks over to John and extends a hand and places it on his forehead.  Suddenly both John and the Queen start writhing and screaming and fall backwards to the ground.  Everyone snaps into action.  The guards rush over to the Queen while Karen, Michael and Sal rush over to John.
“What did you do to our Queen!”, shouts one of the guards as they begin to surround the earthlings weapons drawn.
“Us!?”, says Michael, “Your Queen was the one who hurt him.”
John is groggy.  He feels like a truck just ran him over then backed up over him.  He manages, “Oh wow.”
The Queen also groggy starts to speak, “I am ok stand down.”  She then turns to the four earthlings, “Your energy is not what I am used to experiencing.”
“That’s what we have been trying to say.  We aren’t from around here”, says Michael.
“Perhaps”, says Queen Frallinaso, “We will have a full investigation before the court.”  She turns to Zoeborh, Bring them to the tribunal chambers and summon the court.”
Milenas runs to her sister and protests, “But I can feel in my heart they are telling the truth.”
“My dear sister, the heart is for children.  How many times must I say this.  When you are an adult with responsibilities you must use your head.”  Guards approach the four earthlings and try to lead them away.
Milenas tries to comfort them, “It’s ok, you will be able to convince them.  So they believe, like me.”
“So far this is going splendidly”, says Sal as they are being led to the castle, “Should we bail?”
“Your gun working yet?”, asks Karen who is on one side of John helping him walk.
“Na, I tried it when she did the voodoo thing on John but I can try bluffing.”
“No”, says Michael holding up the other side of John, “With John out and your gun not working we are at half strength if they end up calling the bluff.”

“Agreed we should ride it out a little longer but I would stay alert”, says Karen.
